( 3.1 / 218 )Hi Everyone, This weekend's Long Run is today saturday as part of the Recover From the Holiday Run at Norrie State Park in Staatsburg start time of 9am. However, the purpose of this blog entry is to "plan" our winter long runs- I'm suggesting people come up with places to run .Mike Trunkes suggested we could do a run from the Suny Wellness Center(and use the building before and after ie showers) in New Paltz. Our Long Runs will have two distances something like an 8-10 miler and then another longer distance. So, step up and suggest a weekend and a route. :) steve

( 2.9 / 257 )Hi, I'm jsut wondering what variety of activities people do for cross training in the winter? This year for the first time I am using my bike on an indoor trainer. I've been doing about 2 bike workouts a week- The bike workout fall under 3 different kinds of "catergories" A lactate threshold or "tempo workout", another workout is a focus on pedal cadence with working on keeping "rpms" fast. A third kind is a power workout for climbing and riding in high gears. I've also been using the treadmill at the bike place for "brick" workouts riding pretty hard then immediately following with a run. :) steve S
